'Eat Like a Malawian' |
||||
For two weeks, trustee Nick Jones ate a typical diet of a malawian school boy. He hopes that his efforts will have raised over £500. He ate 42 meals of Nsima, the Malawian staple food of thick starchy porridge made from corn, and basic vegetable Ndiwo, from cabbage and tomatoes. Being such an extreme change from a western diet, he also had a glass of milk a day and multi-vitamins. Nick says "The food was horrid, but I think the ordeal was worth it as it enabled me to gain a slight insight into the lives of the Malawian school children." |
